Author, entrepreneur, and YouTuber Connor Franta has captured the hearts of millions of young people worldwide, so it’s no surprise that the recently launched GAP Logo Remix campaign, which also features entertainers like SZA and Miles Heizer, celebrates his influence on culture. The 25-year-old’s penchant for vulnerability has fostered a connection with his fans that is invaluable, and he uses his platform not only to engage with them, but to uplift underrepresented artists as well.
We caught up with Connor about harnessing his emotions to create, growing into his own identity, and the many epiphanies that accompany early adulthood.
You’re part of this GAP Logo Remix campaign as a young person with great cultural impact. What do you feel your mission is in regards to shaping culture? What about this world do you want to change?
Where would I begin? I want to change this world, especially in 2018. What I’ve been trying to do is just live a really open and authentic life just by being myself. Hopefully that will reshape and remold people’s minds and change the status quo. What I’ve been doing over the past seven years seems to be the most effective way to create change.
